Sora Ventures Launches Asia’s First $1B Bitcoin Treasury Fund

Sora Ventures, a prominent Taiwanese venture capital firm, announced on September 5 the inaugural $1 BTC Treasury Fund in Asia. Officially introduced at Taipei Blockchain Week on September 5, this fund intends to accumulate $1 billion worth of Bitcoin within six months with initial commitments from institutional partners across Asia amounting to $200 Million, CoinDesk Cointelegraph reported.
Institutional Capital Pool

Sora Ventures’ fund stands apart from individual corporate Bitcoin treasury efforts, such as Japan’s Metaplanet or Hong Kong’s Moon Inc, in that it serves as a centralized pool of institutional capital aimed at consolidating regional treasury models while supporting new ones globally (Cryptonews).
Strengthen Bitcoin as a Reserve Asset

Sora Ventures seeks to enhance Bitcoin’s position as a reserve asset across markets through pooling resources and creating synergies between local and international treasuries, further solidifying Bitcoin’s role in corporate treasury strategies (Cryptonews).
Expanding Bitcoin Treasury Models in Asia

Sora Ventures has been actively engaged in expanding Bitcoin treasury models throughout Asia. Starting with its investments in Metaplanet’s Bitcoin allocation in 2024 and subsequent purchases (Moon Inc. in Hong Kong and DV8 in Thailand in 2025 as well as partnership with BitPlanet) of theirs Bitcoin allocation in South Korea; Sora’s goal has been to replicate and expand cryptocurrency-first treasuries throughout the region (Cryptonews).
Institutional Bitcoin Adoption Implications

Sora Ventures’ $1 billion Bitcoin Treasury Fund marks an important step forward for institutional Bitcoin adoption in Asia. By pooling capital together and providing support to existing and new treasury firms, Sora aims to accelerate adoption among corporate treasuries, cementing Asia as an influential participant in global Bitcoin markets, Cryptonews reported.
This initiative highlights an increasing trend of institutional interest in Bitcoin as a reserve asset, which could impact corporate treasury strategies globally.
